He 2º Tapas Contest 'Se Me Fue El Baifo', organized by Asoquegran, The winner was the baifo croquette made by the students of the IES Noroeste, of Santa María de Guía, which won first prize after the public vote. The award will allow two students and a teacher from the center to travel to Madrid Fusion, one of the main gastronomic congresses in the country, in recognition of their work and creativity.

The president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, He highlighted during the development of the event that “when it comes to supporting local products, citizens respond, even in adverse weather conditions”. The opening ceremony included an emotional tribute to two leading cheese factories on the island for decades of work and commitment to the cheesemaking tradition.. Throughout the day, The public was able to taste a wide variety of tapas made with baifo meat, Artisanal cheeses from Gran Canaria and kilometer zero products, created by students from the seven public centers on the island with technical studies in cooking and gastronomy.
