He La Palma Town Council, through the project Savor La Palma that manages the public company Sodepal with financing from the Tourism Department, has decided to consolidate its commitment to local gastronomy as a resource of tourist interest, a priority that will be reflected in the Island's participation in Madrid Fusion, the most important culinary event at the national level.

at this fair, in which the Island Council of Agriculture, The Palm will have its own exhibitor, in which attendees will be able to learn about and taste top quality La Palma products.: cheeses, Wines, avocados, almonds, bananas, remember, oil, craft beers, ron, Honey, sweet potatoes, pastries and leg of black pig, among others.

The Palm will also be present on the main stage of Taste Spain, the wine classroom and the tapas workshop. On purpose, Sodepal brings the chefs to this fair Juan Carlos Curpa, from the restaurant The Market; y Jorge Cruz, from the restaurant The Corner of Moraga; in addition to bakers and pastry chefs Ruben Medina y Bryan Medina, of Zulay Bakery-Pastry Shop; Alicia Garcia, president of the Association of Tasters of El Amund; y Emilio Rodriguez, bartender Aldea Distilleries.

Gastronomy and astronomy

He Council will take advantage of the presence in Madrid Fusion to also promote the spectacular sky of the Island, with a conference on the main stage of Taste Spain in which the aim will be to mix gastronomy and astronomy, with a gastronomic menu in which they will be protagonists Antonio Gonzalez, astronomy popularizer, and the cook Juan Carlos Curpa.

The president of La Palma Town Council, Sergio Rodriguez, has assured that “the work and commitment of our producers and restaurant professionals guarantee us top quality gastronomy.”, in which the excellence of our products prevails but at the same time a fusion cuisine that reinterprets and reinforces the tradition inherited from past generations”.

Sergio Rodriguez reported that Madrid Fusion “It will be the first of different fairs in which the gastronomy of The Palm will be present” throughout 2024, a sector whose promotion “we are going to significantly enhance” by understanding that it is “a tourist and economic resource that we describe as strategic”.
