Corales brings together two different signature cocktail concepts under the direction of Tenerife bartender Yoni Mesa
Materia Elemental Bar y Royal Heaven Maresía, both linked to Corales, Royal Hideaway Hotels & Villas, have been included in Top Cocktail Bars 2026, the selection that brings together some of the most prominent bars in Spain and Portugal.
Materia Elemental Bar, located in the recently opened Royal Hideaway Corales Villas, renews its presence in the guide, while Royal Heaven Maresía enters for the first time. This year's edition was presented on 28 September at the Teatro Magno in Madrid, inside Madrid Cocktail Week, and is prepared based on anonymous votes from professionals related to gastronomy and its dissemination..
Behind both projects is the Tenerife bartender Yoni Mesa, Spanish Cocktail Champion in the Long Drink modality in 2023. Although they share creative direction, The two bars work with different approaches.
Two ways to understand cocktails
Materia Elemental is committed to a minimalist interpretation of the classics and structures its menu around the five elements of nature. Among his proposals are Fuego, an Old Fashioned with Canary rum and spicy banana; Tierra, with Menorcan gin and beetroot; o Agua, a version of the Manhattan with kombu and fig.
Royal Heaven Maresía, for his part, has been developing for years territory cocktails based entirely on ingredients of Canarian origin. Local distillates, fruits, herbs, honeys and other local preparations serve to transfer the island's pantry to the glass. Among his creations are Palmerito Sour, Barratini —inspired by the barraquito— or Beneharo.
The entry of both proposals in Top Cocktail Bars 2026 reinforces the presence of Canarian cocktails in a guide that, beyond hotel recognition, focuses on two lines that are increasingly present in contemporary bars: the use of local products and the technical review of the great classics.
