CaixaBank and elBullifoundation, with the support of the Cabildo of La Palma and the Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin Vinos La Palma, have held a 'Wine Tour' day on the wine sector led by Ferran Centelles, sommelier at elBulli and beverage director at elBullifoundation, which took place at the Casa Salazar in Santa Cruz de La Palma.
More than 60 businessmen and professionals from the island's winery and restaurant sectors have attended this training session given by Centelles under the title 'More than wine. The territory as discourse, with the aim of promoting the wine industry, show the research method on which the work 'El sapiens del vino' is built and discuss the challenges faced by this sector in La Palma.
The opening of this meeting included the participation of the Business Area Director of CaixaBank in La Palma, Cristina Daranas; the president of the Cabildo of La Palma, Sergio Rodriguez; and the president of the DOP Vinos La Palma, José Raúl Melián, who highlighted the importance of being able to celebrate an event of this dimension to highlight the island's wines and promote innovation and development of the La Palma wine sector..
Attendees had the opportunity to listen to Ferran Centelles, who influenced the personality of La Palma wines and the uniqueness that the climate and volcanic character of the island give them., and exchange impressions on trends in the sector, in a session that is part of the agreement signed between CaixaBank and elBulliFoundation to analyze and promote the wine industry through training sessions in different Spanish denominations of origin.
