The XI Halln Gastronomic of the Canary Islands – GastroCanarias 2026 begins to reveal the first proper names of its next edition with the publication of the finalists of two of its major official championships: the 20th Canary Islands Cooking Championship – Cepsa Grand Prize and the 11th Canary Islands Championship of Young Chefs – Binter “La Cocina en Verde” Grand Prize.
Both competitions are part of the central GastroCanarias championship program. 2026 and will bring together professionals and young talents from the

Finalists of the 20th Canary Islands Cooking Championship – Cepsa Grand Prize
The Canary Islands Cooking Championship – Cepsa Grand Prize, the oldest and most prestigious of the competitions held within the framework of GastroCanarias, This year it reaches its 20th edition. The chefs selected as finalists are:

Xabier Luis Boya (Tenerife)
Javier Castillo Marrero (Gran Canaria)
Gabriele Bernucci Ghidini (Tenerife)
Yurena Rodriguez Pacheco (Tenerife)
The championship will be in charge of starting the competitive programming of GastroCanarias 2026. The participants, accompanied by his assistants, They must prepare two dishes live: a common dish with a mandatory ingredient that will be communicated by the organization and a free dish made with the ingredients from a surprise box and the support of a common pantry.
The total time for the preparation and presentation of both creations will be 135 minutes.

Gastrocanarias 2026 has also announced the finalists of the 11th Canary Islands Championship of Young Female Chefs and Chefs – Binter “La Cocina en Verde” Grand Prize, a competition aimed at giving visibility to emerging talent and new generations of cuisine in the Canary Islands.

The competition will be held during the first day of the Show, in the afternoon, from the 16:00 hours.

The XI Gastronomic Fair of the Canary Islands – GastroCanarias 2026 will be celebrated from 19 al 21 May in the Great Hall of the Tenerife Fairgrounds, consolidated as one of the main professional meetings in the gastronomic sector, hospitality and food industry in the Canary Islands.
