The unique venue hosted a sensory proposal promoted by the Gran Canaria Wine Route, an experience to listen to, savor and share
Music can awaken the memory of a landscape. A wine can tell the story of a land. And when both languages meet, experiences arise that are difficult to forget. That was precisely what the more than three hundred people who gathered this Saturday in the Jerónimo Saavedra Room of the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium experienced to enjoy Pairing Gran Canaria, a proposal that turned the island's wine culture into a sensory journey through music, the territory and the emotions.
Driven by the Gran Canaria Wine Route in collaboration with the Gran Canaria Wine Regulatory Council, financed by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and sponsored by Turismo de Gran Canaria, The event offered a different way of approaching island viticulture, moving away from the traditional format of a tasting or a concert to build an immersive experience where each element found its place.
The evening began long before the first note was sounded. One hour before the appointment, The exhibition hall brought together thirteen wineries from the Gran Canaria Wine Route, that offered the public the possibility of tasting their wines with the Gran Canaria Designation of Origin, talk to those who make them and discover the wine tourism experiences they develop in different corners of the island.
Already inside the Jerónimo Saavedra Room, transformed for the occasion into an intimate and welcoming space, The illuminated tables replaced the traditional rows of seats, creating an atmosphere that invited you to enjoy the show with a glass of wine in hand and all your senses open..
El lists German Lopez and the pianist Augusto Baez were in charge of leading this artistic journey with the compositions of Pairing, a musical work conceived as a dialogue between the landscape, wine and the identity of Gran Canaria. Through the musical pieces that make up this album, the public traveled through volcanoes, medians, vineyards, sunrises and sunsets turned into melodies, in a concert that found an extraordinary balance between the interpretative delicacy and the evocative power of each composition.
Aurora, Maybe, Hopefully, Nana, The Retamilla, veraison, Teardrop, Alisio, Whisper, Life, Pink and Earth, They completed a show that also featured the staging of the script's texts by the actor Mingo Ruano.
