Canary Wine announces the XXIII edition of the contest, aimed at restaurants, bares, hotels and specialized shops in the Canary Islands
The Management Body of the Canary Islands Protected Designation of Origin – Canary Wine, in collaboration with the Denomination of Origin Ycoden Daute Isora, has called the XXIII edition of the Regional Canary Islands Wine List Competition, an initiative aimed at hospitality establishments, restaurants and shops specialized in wines from the Archipelago.
The edition 2026 The competition aims to promote the improvement of wine lists in the Canary Islands, both in its presentation and in its contents, and contribute to ensuring that clients and consumers have more complete information, orderly and rigorous information on the wines made in the Islands.
All companies and individuals dedicated to the hospitality industry may participate., the restoration and specialized sale of wines in the Canary Islands that have a minimum of eight brands of wines covered by the Canary Islands Protected Designation of Origin – Canary Wine. The deadline for submitting candidatures will end on Thursday 30 of July.
Participation will be done electronically. Interested establishments must send their digital letter, in PDF or JPG format, to the email address actividades@canarywine.com, indicating in the subject “Regional Wine List Competition” and including the contact information of the competing establishment. Besides, It will be necessary to send a copy of the wine list to the organization in physical format for evaluation by the jury..
The jury will evaluate different aspects of the letters presented, including its design and presentation, the quantity and diversity of references, the presence of international wines, national and regional, as well as the rigor and breadth of the information offered about each wine, including data such as designation of origin, bodega, mark, grape varieties or vintages.
The representation of wines from the region will also be taken into account. DOP Canary Islands – Canary Wine and other denominations of origin of the Archipelago, clarity in the classification of Canary Islands PDO wines—correctly distinguishing regional levels, isla, municipality and plot—and the ability of the menu to highlight the importance and uniqueness of Canarian wines.
