The communication and dissemination platform for gastronomic culture GastroCanarias begins a new editorial stage with Cristina Hernández Rodríguez as director, giving continuity to the work developed by José Carlos Marrero González, who has made the decision that Hernández succeed her at the head of the project.
The new management faces 2026 with the aim of “reinforce the role of GastroCanarias as a reference platform to understand and publicize the gastronomy and hospitality of the Archipelago”.
With a consolidated track record in communication, creation of experiences and direction of gastronomic projects, Cristina Hernández will promote an approach “transversal, contemporary and connected to the territory, expanding the focus beyond purely gastronomic news, integrating and communicating about business models, hospitality, local product, charming hotels, planes, getaways, tendencies, training and new ways of bringing information to the public with themed activities and experiences aimed at both the general public and professionals”.
In addition to the content management of the platform, Cristina Hernández assumes content direction, championships, presentations and gastronomic activities at the Canary Islands Gastronomic Fair – GastroCanarias, together with the Tenerife Fair Institution, “to add experience in the same strategic axis”.
The new director wanted to publicly recognize the work of José Carlos Marrero, key figure in the development of the platform throughout these 20 years: “José Carlos has consistently supported GastroCanarias, passion and service to the sector. “I take over with respect and gratitude.”, has said.
