The edition 2026 of Uncorking the Canary Islands has closed with an especially significant balance for the present of wine in the islands: more than 600 personas participated in the events held every Saturday in June around the wines of the DOP Canary Islands – Canary Wine.

The initiative, driven by AVIBO, once again placed the public within the real landscape of Canarian wine: the wineries, the vineyards, the producers and the territories that explain the uniqueness of each bottle. It wasn't just about tasting, but to understand. To look at wine from its origin, from the earth that holds it and from the hands that interpret it.

The program ended last Saturday 27 June after visiting different reference wineries in Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. Eight firms affiliated with the denomination participated in this edition.: Viñátigo Wineries, Bodega Conatvs, Bodegas Viña Zanata, Bodegas El Sitio, Bodega Finca Escudero, Pago Lineage Wineries, El Lomo Winery and Ferrera Wineries.

The activities combined guided tours of vineyards and wineries, tastings commented by the producers themselves, pairings with local products and cultural proposals linked to the territory. A formula that allowed the quality and diversity of Canary Wine to be shown, but also the landscape value, historical and human that accompanies the viticulture of the archipelago.

The organization interprets the public response as a clear sign of the growing interest in wine tourism in the Canary Islands.. Experience confirms that Canarian wine has stopped being just a table product and has also become a gateway to the landscape., to agricultural memory and a way of understanding the gastronomic culture of the islands.

With this new edition, Uncorking the Canary Islands consolidates a format that connects dissemination, territory and enjoyment. The DOP Canary Islands – Canary Wine thus reinforces its commitment to promoting the wine heritage of the archipelago and with activities capable of bringing the wealth closer to the public., diversity and uniqueness of the wines made in the Canary Islands.
