La Gomera hosts the tenth edition of the Official Competition of Agro-Canadian Gofios 2024, organized by the Government of the Canary Islands through the Canarian Institute of Agri-Food Quality (ICCA) in collaboration in this edition with the Island Council, to recognize the best productions of the archipelago.

The different varieties of gofio made in Canary Islands with wheat, corn, barley, centeno, avena, rice, length, chickpea and soy, or mixtures thereof, by mills on the islands that have the corresponding health authorization (RGSA or RASCOM), that are present in commercial channels and that respond to the miller's own trademarks.

In each of these, different medals may be awarded for productions that reach certain scoring scales.. So, for the big gold medal, production must obtain at least the 80% of the points stipulated in the tasting sheet, while productions that achieve at least the 75% of the stipulated points will receive a gold medal and those who add at least the 65%, they will get a silver medal.
