The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair will be 9 al 11 of May, with companies and institutions from several municipalities and a complete program of activities

I like the Gran Canaria Fair, the largest showcase of local products and gastronomy on the island, has already opened the deadline for purchasing tickets through its website: https://feriagrancanariamegusta.es. Attend the event, which will take place 9 al 11 May in Infecar, has a symbolic cost of 1,50 euros.

Under the motto 'Local product, unique identity', This 12th edition will once again highlight the primary sector of Gran Canaria with a proposal full of culinary exhibitions, tastings, direct sales, workshops and activities for all audiences. The last edition brought together more than 12.000 visitors and this year it is expected to exceed that number with the participation of more than 80 companies, producers and entities.

The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair is not only a space for the promotion of the main agents of the productive fabric of the island, but also a meeting between producers, gastronomy professionals and consumers. In this edition, more than 50 exhibitors - between companies, producers and municipalities—, that through their products and preparations will reflect the diversity and richness of the local gastronomy of Gran Canaria. Olive oil and olives, aloe vera, café, beers, spices, condiments and infusions, fruits and vegetables, remember, ice cream and desserts, jams, Honey, bread and sweets, cheeses, sal marina, wines and juices are just some of the products that will be represented in the exhibition area that will also have the presence of the Industrial Association of the Canary Islands (Asinca) to underline the key role of the local agri-food industry as a driver of the island's economic development.

Glove for future generations

As in previous years, The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair pays special attention to future generations, through specific workshops that, in this edition, They are organized with the collaboration of the Economic Promotion Society of Gran Canaria (SPEGC). This year, The fair will have the presence of guest chef Valentina Salazar, winner of the television program MasterChef Junior 11. With the collaboration of the Canarian chef Alejandro de la Nuez, The young promise will offer several workshops for children among 6 y 12 years, in which he will guide the participants in the cooking of a recipe made with ingredients from various municipalities on the island.

This activity, which has a planned duration of 45 minutes, will end with a blind tasting of four liquefied fruits in which the boys and girls must identify the flavors presented to them. The workshops with Valentina Salazar will take place on Saturday 10 of May, at 11:00, 12:30, 17:00 y 18:30 hours, and on sunday 11 of May, at 11:00 and to 12:30 hours.

Besides, the possibility of cooking with the guest junior chef, Children will be able to participate in various Fruit Art workshops that will be held, with the sponsorship of SPAR Gran Canaria, on Friday 9 May and will teach the little ones the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. During the activity of some 45 minutes long, Boys and girls will have to make two figures with different types of fruits that they will also be able to taste.. These workshops are recommended for children under 6 a 10 years and have a duration of approximately 45 minutes.

The Gran Canaria Me Gusta Fair is promoted and financed by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and organized by Infecar, Gran Canaria Fair. It has Cajasiete as an official collaborator and with the collaboration of Gran Canaria Me Gusta and the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria.
