The gastronomic journalist will take over the direction of 'With Turmeric', while Fran Belín will continue to be linked to the space as a collaborator
José Luis Reina will take over the direction of 'Con Cúrcuma' this October, one of the programs specialized in gastronomy with the longest history in the Canary Islands and which is now approaching nine years on the air.
The relay has been advanced by Paco Almagro, show producer, on your website The Blogoferoz, where he explains that the change had been in preparation for months with Fran Belín, until now one of the main voices and leaders of the space.
The arrival of Queen opens a new stage, but it does not represent a complete break with the previous. Fran Belín will continue to be linked to 'Con Cúrcuma' as a collaborator, after years at the head of a format built from scratch and that has ended up consolidating a stable presence within the gastronomic information of the Islands.
A relief prepared for months
According to Almagro, both he and Belín considered it necessary to take a step back after almost nine years of continuous work. During that time, The program has had the support of numerous companies linked to the restoration, the wine, the product and other areas of the Canarian gastronomic sector.
He has also passed through different stations until his most recent stage in Canarian Radio, where he found accommodation with Mayer Trujillo.
The change of direction had been brewing for months and will finally be José Luis Reina who will take charge of the program from October.
A journalist specialized in gastronomy
Reina comes to 'Con Cúrcuma' with a career closely related to gastronomic journalism. He currently directs 'Taste Reigns', space that publishes in newspapers The Province y The Day, both belonging to Iberian Press.
under that umbrella, Reina has promoted the Culinary Hotel Awards, awards that recognize gastronomy made in hotels, as well as its main actors. The second edition of the Culinary Hotel Awards will be held in October in Gran Canaria.
The move allows 'Con Cúrcuma' to maintain a direction specialized in gastronomy and, at the same time, preserve part of its editorial memory with the continuity of Fran Belín.
Almost nine years talking about Canarian gastronomy
The program is about to celebrate its ninth anniversary, an unusual longevity within the radio spaces dedicated specifically to gastronomy in the Canary Islands.
Cooking professionals have passed through their microphones over the years., Wineries, producers, restaurateurs and other protagonists of a sector that has undergone a significant transformation during the last decade.
Now the person leading the project changes, but not necessarily its object. José Luis Reina takes the reins, Fran Belín remains close and 'Con Cúrcuma' enters October with a game still to play.
