The GastroCanarias show opens the deadline to participate in ten cooking and cocktail championships that will be held from 19 al 21 May in Tenerife
The XI Gastronomic Fair of the Canary Islands – GastroCanarias 2026 has now opened the registration period for its official championships, that the days will be celebrated 19, 20 y 21 May in the Great Hall of the Tenerife Fairgrounds. The eleventh edition of the show also inaugurates a new stage with a renewed vision, aimed at reinforcing the role of GastroCanarias as a sector platform that connects talent, product, training, business and consumer trends.
In this first phase of registration, seven cooking championships and three bartender championships have already been activated.. In kitchen, The official competitions published are the following:
- 20º Canary Islands Cooking Championship
- 11º Canary Islands Championship of Young Chefs – Binter “La Cocina en Verde” Grand Prize
- 11º Canarian Signature Canary Snacks Championship Grand Prix Fred. Olsen Express
- 9º Canary Islands Pastry Championship –Harinalia Grand Prix
- 1º Canary Islands Breakfast Toast Championship – Europastry Grand Prize
- 4º Canary Islands Tapas Championship – Makro Grand Prix
- 7º Canary Islands Pizza Championship – IF Grand Prix&B Commit.
In the drinks and cocktails section, Gastrocanarias 2026 also opens the following registrations that have the collaboration of the Tenerife Bartenders Association (ABT).
- 13º Canary Islands Classic Cocktail Championship – Royal Bliss Grand Prix
- 11º Canary Islands Acrobatic Cocktail Championship (Flair) – Grand Prix Ron Methuselah
- 11º Canary Islands Beer Draft Championship – Heineken Grand Prix.
Regarding deadlines, Most of the published championships will keep registration open until the 6 of April. This is the case of Kitchen, Young Chefs and Cooks, Signature Canarian Sandwiches, Bakery, Tapas and the three bartender championships. He 7º Canarias Pizza Championship will accept applications until 17 of April, while the 1º Canary Islands Breakfast Toast Championship extends its term until 4 of May.
One of the great focuses of attention will once again be the Canary Islands Cooking Championship, which reaches its twentieth edition and remains one of the oldest and most recognized culinary events in the archipelago. In the last edition, held in 2025, the title went to the Tenerife native Nahuel Campos Núñez.
