The Gran Canaria Fair I Like It celebrates its eleventh edition this year, valuing the traditions of the primary sector, the product of the land and industrial processing in the archipelago as a promotion of the economy.
So, This annual event is the ideal setting to showcase the excellence of local products and the island's gastronomy., facilitating in the same space the direct sale of products and an extensive program of activities that, from the hand of experts, will reveal the particularities of the products, its production and elaboration, enhancing your identity.
This Wednesday, 10 of April, The presentation of this event has taken place in which the president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria has participated, Antonio Morales; the Minister of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts, Minerva Alonso; and the Primary Sector counselor, Food Sovereignty and Water Security, Miguel Hidalgo.
With the presentation of this XI edition of the Gran Canaria Fair I Like It, “we once again put the agri-food products of our island at the center, trying to enhance the importance of local consumption for various reasons such as its characteristics, because we know its origin, for the influence it has on the local economy and job creation, in addition to the care it takes for our territory”, has pointed out Morales.
The president has celebrated that the fair has increased its participation until 81 companies and 19 town halls, in front of the 51 companies and 16 town councils that participated in 2023. “It is very important that the business sectors make efforts so that we guarantee the output of the crops and the firm commitment to local products”.
In addition, Morales has remembered that the Gran Canaria Fair I Like It will open its doors this Friday 19 of April, having the direct purchase of visitors, “but also as a meeting space for citizens, the product, companies and also leisure and family enjoyment”.
A program full of activities
The Gran Canaria Fair I Like It In this eleventh edition, the focus will be on the gastronomic work that great chefs from the archipelago are doing locally., that will delight those present at the gastronomic exhibitions. So, during friday, Saturday and Sunday, the main stage of the pavilion 5 of Infect It will become a great kitchen in which you can learn every detail of the proposals of these masters of the kitchen..
In addition, in the national section, This edition will have the presence of the chef and MasterChef jury Pepe Rodriguez, that will hold an exhibition that will combine tradition and modernity with local products as the main protagonist.
Added to all this, the Gran Canaria Fair I Like It It has a large space for learning and discovery led by the Primary Sector., that will address tastings, workshops and product tastings in the Sabor y Saber classrooms 1 y 2; the classroom Gran Canaria Wines; the classroom Meats from Gran Canaria and the classroom Much More than Fishing.
