Pedro Suárez Rodríguez has been re-elected as president of the Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin Wines of Gran Canaria unanimously. Suarez thus revalidates the presidency he obtained in 2018. In his first statements, highlighted the unity that has marked the sector in recent years, which has allowed an increase in the hectares of vineyards planted, quality improvement, new wine brands and the generalization of wine tourism, with the star product of the Gran Canaria Wine Route.
The plenary session is made up of six members representing the wine sector and the same number representing the wine sector., corresponding in both sectors to the Comarca Monte Lentiscal, a representation of one third of the total, and a member representing the Administration.
The director of the Canarian Institute of Agri-Food Quality (ICCA) of the Government of the Canary Islands, Luis Arraez Guadalupe.
