| Tradition turned into excellence. An iconic sweet of our gastronomic culture that, in master hands, can reach unsuspected levels of technique, sensitivity and perfection. With this spirit is born the I Championship for the Best Torrija in the world, a new contest to be held within the framework of Madrid Fusion Pastry 2026 and that will have the official sponsorship of Pascual Quality, national benchmark in the production of quality dairy products.
This championship is aimed at professional chefs, pastry chefs and confectioners who wish to demonstrate their talent by making one of the most beloved and recognizable desserts in our gastronomy.
The winner will be announced live during the gastronomic summit, on tuesday 27 January 2026.
Until the 10 January 2026, All interested parties may submit their candidacy with a single torrija recipe, that should stand out for its technique, balance and creativity. As an essential requirement, the torrija must be prepared fried and exclusively with natural ingredients, no additives, and using as a base Easter milk, leading product of the championship.

And technical committee designated by Madrid Fusion Foods of Spain will select the six best recipes received to compete in the final of the contest.
He jury, formed by renowned journalists, chefs, pastry chefs and experts in the food sector, will evaluate flavor, texture, technique and presentation. The contest will announce a single winner, who will receive the title of Best Torrija in the World 2026.
The championship, sponsored by Pascual Quality, claims torrija as a symbol of tradition, culinary excitement and technical excellence, and highlights an essential product from our pantry: milk.
