Cumbres de Abona wins the award for Best Canary Islands Wine 2026 and several recognitions for its wines and its Oleoteide oil
The Minister of Agriculture, Cattle raising, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty of the Government of the Canary Islands, Narvay Quintero, visited the facilities of the Cumbres de Abona Cooperative Society, in Arico, After the recent recognitions obtained by the winery in the Official Agrocanarias Wine Competition 2026.

During the tour, Quintero was accompanied by the counselor of the Primary Sector of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Valentín González; the director of the Canarian Institute of Agri-Food Quality, Luis Arraez Guadalupe; the mayor of Arico, Andres Martinez; the president of the cooperative, Manuel Marrero; the winemaker Pedro Rodriguez; and representatives of the entity's board of directors.
Cumbres de Abona was honored in Agrocanarias with the prize for Best Wine of the Canary Islands 2026 for his Naturally Sweet White Chasna Flower, award shared in this edition with Red Martial Cho Peak, from the SAT Viticulturists of the Güímar Region. Besides, The cooperative obtained another eight medals for different preparations.
Quintero highlighted during the visit that Cumbres de Abona is a historic winery and an example of the potential of the Canary Islands agri-food sector.. The advisor placed emphasis on the quality of his wines, in its growing presence in national and international competitions and in its ability to generate value around the territory.
The regional manager also valued the cooperative's commitment to extra virgin olive oil and for him oleotourism, a line of work that allows linking the primary sector with tourism, the landscape, gastronomy and wine culture.
The most outstanding wine of the cooperative in Agrocanarias, he Naturally Sweet White Chasna Flower, It is characterized by its intense yellow color with golden reflections., honeyed and fruity aromas, and a powerful flavor derived from the overripeness of the grapes. In addition to the main prize, Cumbres de Abona achieved three major gold medals for My Dry White Island, Dried White Chasna Flower y Summits of Abona Tinto. He also won four gold medals for White Chasna Flower Premium Selection, Flor de Chasna Red Tradition, My Island White Fruity y Chasna Flower White Fruity, all of them prepared under the Abona Protected Designation of Origin.
Added to these recognitions is the silver medal obtained for its oil. Arbequina/picual oleoteide in the extra virgin olive oil competition held last April.
