The gala, that brought together leaders from the sector, celebrated four decades of history recognizing the best of gastronomy inside and outside the Canary Islands.

Among the main winners, the chef stood out Miguel Navarro, in front of the restaurant It's smoke in Palma de Mallorca, who received the Manuel Iglesias Award for chef of the year. They were also distinguished María Ritter for his work at the head of the Repsol Guide, the restaurant IlBocconcino in Costa Adeje as the best international proposal, y Chimiche's Secret, in Tenerife, as a model of sustainability and defense of the Canarian product. There was no shortage of recognition for the best restaurant of the year, A kameez (Lanzarote), award received by its young chef, Ruben Cuesta, and to the program “Eat the world” for his informative work.

There were also recognitions for the Best National Restaurant, a NEXT (Madrid), the Best Work in Wines, a Molten Earth, by Loreto Pancorbo and Gabriel Morales, and the Best Work in Pastry, a Guirlache (The Palms)

The ceremony, conducted with humor and warmth by Aarón Gómez, and in which the president of the jury, journalist Jose Luis Conde congratulated the winners and offered words of encouragement to the sector, included musical performances and culminated with a great gastronomic party in the outdoor plaza, with food-trucks and live cooking. This special edition not only served to honor the winners, but also to reaffirm the essential role that gastronomy plays in the cultural and economic identity of the country.. With a new award for the “Ambassador of Canarian Gastronomy in the World”, given to the singer Juan Carlos 'Caco' Senante, The gala made it clear that flavor is also sung, is celebrated and shared.
