Terrae will turn Gran Canaria into the capital of rural gastronomy with more than 50 chefs, showcookings, tastings and debates about the future of the field
Gran Canaria will once again place itself on the international map of gastronomy with the celebration of Earth, the meeting that will bring together more than 50 rural chefs of Spain, Portugal and Italy of the 15 al 17 March. The fourth edition of the event will be held in Saint Brigid, Valsequillo and San Mateo, where chefs, producers and experts will debate the future of rural cuisine and the value of the territory.
For three days, the program will combine presentations, round tables, showcookings, visits to producers and cultural activities, with the aim of reclaiming rural gastronomy as an engine of identity, local development and sustainability.
The president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, highlighted during the presentation that Terrae was born with the ambition of turning the island into international meeting point for chefs committed to local products and the territory.
Morales also stressed that the event is part of the Cabildo's strategy to diversify the economy, strengthen the primary sector and make local products visible, joining initiatives such as Gran Canaria I like it and the Ecoisla model.
Three days of cooking, territory and knowledge
The appointment will start on domingo 15 March with a popular day open to the public in the Santa Brigida Municipal Park, where ten chefs from Spain, Italy and Portugal will prepare dishes that will be served in 400 portions at popular prices.
The public will also be able to enjoy a tent dedicated to the Gran Canaria cheeses and another with island wines, In addition to a debate in the Wine House on the role of gastronomy in the development of people.

One of the highlights will be the delivery of the Prize of the Earth 2026 to the chef Hilario Arbelaitz, historical reference of Spanish cuisine from its Zuberoa restaurant, recognized for its elegant style and deeply linked to tradition.
Round tables will also be held on rural restoration models, experiences of gastronomic projects in towns and the challenges of growth after achieving success.
High altitude vineyards and local products

Michelin-starred chefs and local talent
Terrae will bring together dozens of Michelin-starred chefs, among them Borja Marrero, Miguel Carretero, Alejandro Hernandez, Nacho Solana, Peter Aguilera, Eduardo Salanova, Elena Lucas, Giuseppe Iannoti o Kiko Moya.
They will be joined by a large group of chefs from Gran Canaria, as Aridani Alonso, Airam Vega, Ruyman González, Carlos Padilla, Paco Budia, Miguel and Alberto Herrera or Kilian Nordelo.
With this international participation, Gran Canaria will become the great European forum of rural gastronomy for three days, where chefs, producers and experts will analyze the challenges of the sector: the generational change, sustainability, the relationship with the territory and the role of cuisine as a tool of transformation in rural areas.
