Gabriel Navarro Oliveros wins the “Promises of haute cuisine” award and obtains a scholarship from 24.000 euros to continue your training in Madrid

Lanzarote once again places itself on the national gastronomy map thanks to young talent. Gabriel Navarro Oliveros, student of the Intermediate Cooking Degree at the CIFP Zonzamas, won the national award this Tuesday “Promises of haute cuisine”, summoned by Le Cordon Bleu Madrid.

The triumph of the Lanzarote student will allow him to take a new leap in his training, since you will receive a scholarship worth 24.000 euros to take one of the programs of the prestigious cooking school. Besides, he CIFP Zonzamas, based in Lanzarote, has been recognized with 1.500 euros for their support and dedication during the preparation of the candidate.

The dish presented by Gabriel Navarro was chosen by the professional jury of this edition, chaired by Paco Roncero, Madrid chef distinguished with two Michelin stars and three Repsol suns. The election represents a boost to the work of the young student and, at the same time, a recognition of the level of training provided on the island.

The victory takes on special relevance as it is a national competition aimed at students under the age of 25 years who are in the last year of cooking training in centers throughout Spain. The contest seeks to distinguish talented young people, gastronomic passion and vision, and awards the first two finishers with scholarships to continue their learning in Le Cordon Bleu Madrid.

In this edition, second place went to Andreu Berenguer, of the CIP FP Boats of Alicante, who obtained a scholarship valued at 9.000 euros to take one of the school's diplomas.

Beyond the individual award, Gabriel Navarro's success also projects the name of Lanzarote as a source of new kitchen professionals. The recognition reinforces the image of the CIFP Zonzamas as one of the centers capable of training young people with a competitive level within the national gastronomic panorama.
