Binter incorporates Canarian wine into its onboard dining experience on flights between the Canary Islands and national and international destinations
From the 27 of May, Binter passengers can enjoy Canarian wines as part of the complimentary gourmet aperitif on national and international flights. The initiative is part of the collaboration agreement between the airline and GMR Canarias, public company attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, Cattle raising, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty of the Government of the Canary Islands, whose objective is to make visible the quality and uniqueness of the agri-food products of the archipelago and bring them closer to a greater number of consumers..
These wines will allow the traveler to discover, from the first sip, the wine wealth of the islands through elaborations that come from volcanic soils, of unique microclimates and a heroic crop that defies slopes, extreme winds and altitudes. The Minister of Agriculture, Cattle raising, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty of the Government of the Canary Islands, Narvay Quintero, has positively valued the incorporation of Canarian wines in the national and international routes operated by Binter. This action is part of the strategy “Grow up together”, led by the Canary Islands Executive to strengthen the presence of local products in the tourism sector and promote the gastronomic identity of the archipelago, promoting the external projection of the primary sector and generating added value for Canarian producers.
This agreement between Binter and the Government of the Canary Islands, with the participation of GMR Canarias as a strategic supplier, reinforces the commitment to sustainable development and the valorization of the agri-food heritage of the archipelago, generating “new commercial opportunities for our winegrowers and positioning the Canary Islands as a benchmark in differentiated quality products”, pointed out Quintero.
The selected references will rotate periodically to give visibility to wineries on all the islands., thus reflecting the diversity, authenticity and excellence that define Canarian wine. This proposal, framed in the “Grow Together” strategy of the Government of the Canary Islands, turns each flight into an opportunity to savor the territory and pay tribute to the effort and tradition of those who cultivate the vine in one of the most unique landscapes on the planet..
Bodegas Insulares Tenerife is the first protagonist of this experience in the heights, taking passengers to the authentic flavor of the Tenerife municipality of Tacoronte, with three native varieties grown among solidified lavas, extreme microclimates and terraces that define heroic viticulture.
