GastroCanarias will meet in Tenerife 14 championships, four new contests, 205 stands and Galicia as a guest destination

Gastrocanarias 2026 warm up with a more ambitious edition, more open to new consumer trends and more focused on the professionalization of the sector. He XI Gastronomic Fair of the Canary Islands will be celebrated from 19 al 21 of May in the Great ship of the Tenerife Fairgrounds, where companies will meet again, producers, distributors, chefs, room staff, bartenders, baristas, bakers, Passers, students and restoration professionals, hospitality and food.

The great event for the sector in the Archipelago will arrive this year with a powerful fair and competitive aspect. The organization foresees the participation of almost 80 exhibitors and 205 stands from food companies, food equipment and solutions, consolidating the show as a key space for commercial visibility, networking and generating business opportunities.

One of the great focuses of this eleventh edition will be on the contests. Gastrocanarias 2026 will welcome 14 Official Championships, to those who join four new competitions that reflect the evolution of the market and consumer habits. The news is the Canary Islands Salad Championship, he Canary Islands Breakfast Toast Championship, he Canary Islands Artisan Bakery Championship and the Canary Islands Barista Championship.

With these additions, The salon focuses on booming segments such as the bar, breakfasts with their own identity, artisan workshops and specialty coffee. Besides, the interest in participating is already noticeable: almost a hundred professionals have registered to date in the different championships, which confirms the pull of an event that seeks to give visibility to talent, to craft and innovation.

The programming will also maintain its already consolidated championships in cooking, bakery, pizza, tapas, signature sandwiches, cocktail, draft of beer, flairtending and table decoration. Added to this will be the presentation of The Masterchef World Tenerife Challenge 2026, whose final will directly feature the finalist of the show's chef contest.

Another of the great novelties will be the incorporation of Galicia as the first guest destination, a new formula with which GastroCanarias opens a stage of foreign projection after having traveled, in previous editions, the eight Canary Islands as guest territories. The Galician presence will reinforce the gastronomic exchange, cultural and professional with one of the most important territories within the national culinary panorama.

Beyond exhibition and competition, GastroCanarias wants to reinforce its profile as a forum for ideas and training this year. The mornings of Heineken Stage will release the Gastronomic Hub Trends Talk, a space for debate on trends and strategic issues for hospitality and gastronomy. Advanced content includes a round table on gastronomy and health, the presentation of the first chocolate made entirely with cocoa produced in the Canary Islands and a meeting on female generational change in the world of wine.

The Macro Hall, focused on training and product, and the space of HECANSA, that he 21 of May the day will take place “The Ho(s)teleria that comes”, with issues like the room, the A profiles&B, the hotel pastry, hybrid training and breakfast as a sales argument.
