The IX Malvasía Week concludes successfully celebrating the viticulture of Lanzarote

From artistic workshops to wine routes, this week provided an experience only, culminating with the celebration of European Wine Tourism Day.

The ninth edition of ‘Malvasía, Lanzarote wine week’, has closed its doors after a successful series of events that have paid tribute to the rich tradition of the island's wine sector. Of the 6 al 12 of November, he D.O Regulatory Council. Lanzarote wines has hosted a variety of activities designed to delight wine lovers of all levels.

The week started with the enoartistic workshop of Rufina Santana, where the Red Listán Negrocame to life on the canvas, followed by an immersion in creative illustration with ‘Once upon a timeAt… Create your comic’ by Íñigo Francos. The food and wine journey continued with a fusionof oriental flavors and local wines in the restaurant Kokoxili, and ended with narrativesimmersive, by the hand of Vicky dos Santos y Aaron Marquez, in “Once upon a Vine…”. 

The finishing touch was the wine route through La Geria Sunday, coinciding with the DayEuropean Wine Tourism, where attendees explored the stories and flavors that make the characteristic wine area and agricultural tradition of Lanzarote.

“We are delighted with the reception and participation in each of the initiatives of thisedition, in which almost all events ran out of tickets”, expressNereida Perez, secretary of Regulatory Council. “The culture of the vine and its tradition isessential for all of us, and it is an honor to be able to share and celebrate the incredible heritageviticulturist that owns Lanzarote with wine lovers in this way”, he added.

Within the framework of this important week for the sector, he Regulatory Council of the D.O.Lanzarote wines was recognized with the prestigious award for 'ViticultureSustainable', last thursday 2 of November. This award highlights the work of the Council, since its foundation in 1993, focused on ensuring a “sustainable exploitation” of thenatural resources on the island. This way, together with winegrowers, warehouses and stafftechnical, continue to preserve a unique agrarian landscape across generations, ensuring that the wine culture of Lanzarote endure and flourish responsibly.
