Hotels Escuela de Canarias celebrates the graduation of 112 hospitality students, cooking and restoration

School of the Canary Islands Hotels (Hecansa) This Friday the first graduation ceremony of the 112 students who have completed the Kitchen Management programs this year, Gastronomy, Directorate of Restaurant and Hotel Management Services in its two centers: the Hotel Escuela de Santa Cruz (HESC), in Tenerife, and the Hotel Escuela de Santa Brígida, in Gran Canaria.

In this first ceremony, which took place at the Adán Martín Auditorium in Tenerife, were received 64 students of the Hotel Escuela de Santa Cruz, after a training period of two years. Thirty-four students completed their studies in the General Dual Vocational Training modality and, for the first time, thirty obtained the title in Intensive Dual Vocational Training, that combines academic training with work experience from the beginning of the training itinerary.

This marks a historic milestone for the Canary Islands educational system., As it is the first class to graduate in the intensive Dual Vocational Training modality on the islands. An advance that has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Iberostar hotel chain, that has welcomed the students in its establishments, allowing them to integrate into real work environments from the first day of training.

During the act, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Jose Manuel Sanabria, congratulated the students for having completed their training at a reference center. He pointed out that its future will be supported by two fundamental pillars: continuing training and employment. He reminded them that they have a profession that makes people happy, and encouraged them to always carry with them the DNA of this institution. Likewise, invited them to honor their families, to HECANSA and themselves throughout their professional and personal careers.

For your part, the CEO of HECANSA, Paola Plasencia, highlighted “the innovative nature and success of a pioneering project in the Canary Islands: “HECANSA's first Intensive Dual Training promotion”.

He stressed that this training model “has allowed our students to train and work at the same time.”, under an employment contract, combining practical experience with a solid base of knowledge”.

Reaffirmed, besides, “the commitment of the entity that has focused its efforts from the beginning on the students and their future”. Addressing recent graduates, reminded them of the importance of this sector that is constantly evolving and goes beyond technical knowledge. “Tourism is proximity, it's experience, it's emotion. From HECANSA, We sincerely wish you all the success in the world in this new beginning.. Never forget that learning is a continuous journey”, concluded.

Besides, The deputy to the general director of Operations of Iberostar also participated in the event, Eloy Rebollo, who valued the role of young talent in the tourism sector. “Beyond the numbers, What really defines us is our commitment to people and to a service that goes beyond making a perfect bed or serving a coffee with art.. Rebollo highlighted the group's firm commitment to Dual Training, convinced that “the future of tourism is in the hands of professionals capable of making a guest feel at home”. He thanked the students for their attitude and their desire to be part of the project., and encouraged them to look to the future with enthusiasm: “This is not an end, It's a starting point. Ahead they have a sector full of opportunities”.

During the development of the events, There was also space for the voice of the students. On behalf of his colleagues, the student of the Gastronomy program, Elena Mendez, He expressed that “this is not the end, but the beginning of a new roadmap”, highlighting the value of continuous training and commitment to excellence in the tourism sector.

The second graduation ceremony will take place on 20 June at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, in Gran Canaria, where they will obtain their degree 44 students of the Hotel Escuela of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, also in Kitchen Management programs, Gastronomy, Directorate of Services in Restoration and Hotel Management.
