The Rare Tour brought together CHAR and Bodega El Capricho in Adeje, two grill references recognized by World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants

The south of Tenerife welcomed among the 14 and the 16 of May, one of the most relevant gastronomic events held in the Canary Islands around the culture of meat, maturation and fire. The restaurant CHAR Fire and Embers, located in the Baobab Suites hotel in Adeje and belonging to Venture Hospitality Group, was the scene of a new edition of The Rare Tour, the series of meetings linked to World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants.

The call brought together CHAR with Jose Gordon and the team El Capricho Winery, one of the most influential research houses in the world, selection, maturation and cooking of exceptional meats. The meeting also had an evident symbolic weight: The Dome of El Capricho currently occupies the number 1 of the international ranking, Bodega El Capricho appears in the position 10 and CHAR Fuego y Brasas has reached the position this year 46, consolidating itself as the best steakhouse in the Canary Islands and one of the ten best in Spain in this classification.

The experience was structured around two dinners open to the public and a more intimate session for professionals, trusted experts and guests. In that format, José Gordón shared the keys to a philosophy that understands meat not as just another product, but as the result of a long process, precise and almost biographical: observation of each animal, the selection of the ox, the cutting, maturation, cutting and cooking.

His intervention allowed The Rare Tour to be placed beyond an exceptional dinner. What was proposed in Adeje was a cultural reading of meat, where the technique, Time and deep knowledge of the raw material become as important as the ember.. Each piece requires a different interpretation, and that look is what has turned El Capricho into an international reference.
