This year the Lanzarote winery celebrates 250 years, being one of the ten oldest in Spain and Malvasía Lías 2018 es el vino elegido para la celebración
El Grifo Wineries, la mítica bodega lanzaroteña a las puertas de La Geria, zona vitivinícola por excelencia de la isla de Lanzarote, fulfill this 2025 are 250 birthday. Es la bodega más antigua de Canary Islands y está entre las diez más longevas de Spain.
Para conmemorar tan señalada efeméride, las bodegas de la familia Otamendi Bethencourt han preparado una agenda de actos que incluye “lanzamientos de nuevos vinos y colaboraciones muy singulares, también con eventos y viajes a la bodega”. Y el arranque será Madrid Fusion Foods from Spain, where The tap tendrá estand propio para brindar con su Malvasía Lías 2018, el vino elegido para el aniversario.

At sight it stands out for its straw yellow tone., with light golden tones. It's clean and bright. As for its aroma, It is of medium-high intensity typical of a wine in evolution. If you like fresh fruit, citrus (orange peel) y tropical (passion fruit, mango), also flowers (noon, jasmine, violet), fennel, and complex aromas such as flint or flint (match). The autolysis of the yeasts recalls aromas of bakery and yeast. Besides, aging in the bottle causes traces of dried fruits, honey and caramel.
Malvasía Lías 2018 captivates the palate due to its large volume -due to the mannoproteins of dead yeasts-. The passage in the mouth is long, unctuous and with very marked final acidity with citrus freshness, highlighting mineral and slightly saline notes. The ending is persistent.
