The 11th edition of the Saborea Lanzarote Wine and Gastronomic Festival begins, the largest in its history, with full in all its activities
On Saturday morning, 23 of November, The 11th edition of the Saborea Lanzarote Enogastronomic Festival, a tribute to the unique gastronomic culture of the island and other territories that make up the Macaronesia. In the words of president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, “for two days, The Town of Teguise becomes the epicenter of innovation, sustainability and gastronomic culture, a unique opportunity to make the entire value chain visible and show our unique historical heritage”.
On this first day, the attending public was able to savor the succulent proposals from more than 120 exhibitors that make up the Gastromarket. Besides, all the scheduled activities soon hung the poster “full”, from the Taste Lanzarote Classroom, to that of Vino, Chinique, Chinijo Chef, he Worker and that of Liquid Gastronomy. The most ancient flavors have been mixed with the most refined techniques, permeating innovation spaces, without losing sight of the origins and history.
The presentations of Diego Guerrero from DSTAgE, Alvaro Garrido de Mina, Benito Gómez de Bardal and Domenico Vildacci de Deessa. Great expectation, also, around the laureates Jordi Roca from the Celler de Can Roca, and Eduard Xatruch to Enjoy. Today it will be the turn of Jesús Sánchez Manzano and Esther Manzano from Casa Marcial, Christian Escribá from Pastelería Escribá and Lucía Freitas from A Tofona. We are talking about an edition in which, in sum, is counted on 20 Michelin stars, that show the very high level of the event.
The day has also been very revealing in the Aula Saborea Lanzarote thanks to the local chefs Yeray Gil, Orlando Ortega, Marco Acosta and the kitchen of Gonzalo Calzadilla expressed by his team. In the afternoon the turn was for Víctor Betancort, Jon Pérez and Joaquín Espejo. Each of the presentations paired with vermouth, wine or craft beers from Lanzarote. And the second day, with identical pairings, will star chefs Yuri Molina, Vicente Rodríguez and Diego Martinho, in addition to Omar Viña, president of Aqual.
The Sea Classroom, for his part, has paid tribute, one more year, to the Lanzarote tradition with the snoring of tuna. A celebration space that highlights not only the rich products of the Atlantic, but the courage of those who have known how to navigate it and obtain the best of the sea. Y, as a counterpoint, from the ground, he “Burger Fest” and its burgers with a local touch are being a real attraction among residents and tourists.
The sensitive journey of the Festival also takes us to discover proposals from Cambrils, Segovia and Valladolid at the Saborea España stand; curiosities of all the islands in “Canary Islands Know” and the Chinique classroom, as well as discover the cuisine of Ireland or Mid-Atlantic territories such as Galicia, Cape Verde and Madeira.
The Saborea Festival is organized by the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Art Centers, Culture and Tourism of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the City Council of Teguise.
